FAQ

1. What is the date and location of the tournament?

The tournament will be held at Pinehurst Resort on June 8, 2025 playing Course No. 8 and on June 9, 2025 playing Course No. 2.

2. What time does the tournament start?

Golfer registration begins at 11:00 am on June 8, 2025 at the No. 8 Clubhouse, and the shotgun start will be at 1:00 pm on Course No. 8. For those arriving to Pinehurst on Sunday, please first go to the Carolina Hotel to complete your hotel room check-in. From the Carolina Hotel, you may take the shuttle with your golf clubs to Course No. 8 or drive yourself as there will be ample parking. Upon arriving to Course No. 8 you will go through golfer check-in and receive your player gifts.

3. What is the format of the tournament?

The tournament is typically played in a Scramble format. Teams will consist of four players. Official rules will be distributed at the tournament.

4. How do I register for the tournament?

You can register online or by contacting Virginia Keller at virginia.keller@cancer.org. Please contact Virginia if you wish to pay by check or through your Donor Advised Fund.

5. Is there a limit to the number of participants?

Yes, the amount of spots for golf participants is limited. Early registration is recommended to secure your spot.

6. What is the cost to participate?

The entry fee is $5,000 per player, $15,000 per team with three players and a coach or $20,000 per team with four players without a coach. This includes green fees, cart, and access to all tournament events. Caddie gratuity is the the responsibility of the golfer.

7. What does the entry fee include?

The entry fee includes hotel accommodations for Sunday night, 18 holes of golf per day, carts, breakfast on Monday, lunches, snacks and beverages on the course for both days, as well as entry to the Circle of Honor Dinner and VIP After Party.

8. Is my entry fee tax-deductible?

Since this tournament benefits the American Cancer Society, a portion of your entry fee may be tax-deductible. Please consult your tax advisor.

9. Are sponsorship opportunities available?

10. Can I make a donation if I am unable to attend the tournament?

Absolutely! Donations are welcome and can be made online or by contacting Virginia Keller at virginia.keller@cancer.org or 949-449-4484.

11. Will there be a live or silent auction?

Yes, we will have a live and a silent auction during the event with exciting packages! Be sure to check out the available items and support the cause. Follow @coachesvscancer on Instagram and Facebook for updates.

12. What is the dress code for the golf tournament?

Please adhere to golf course dress codes, which typically require collared shirts and golf-appropriate attire. No denim, tank tops, or athletic shorts are allowed.

13. What happens if it rains?

The tournament will be held rain or shine. In the case of severe weather, we will notify participants of any delays or rescheduling.

14. Will food and beverages be provided?

Yes, food and beverages will be provided throughout the day, including breakfast and lunch, snacks on-course and a post-round meal. Alcoholic beverages will also be available at all meal service and at designated locations on the course.

15. Is there an after-party or awards ceremony?

Yes, there will be an awards ceremony following the conclusion of the tournament on Monday where winners will be announced and prizes will be distributed.

16. What is the time and location of the Circle of Honor Dinner?

The event will be at The Carolina Hotel with the cocktail reception commencing at 6:30 pm and the dinner at 7:30 pm. There is a VIP After-Party at the Carolina Hotel immediately following the event.

17. What is the dress code for the Circle of Honor Dinner?

We ask guests to dress in Business Casual attire. Below is a guide to help you choose the appropriate attire:

For Men:

· Shirts: Collared shirts such as button-down dress shirts or polo shirts. Sweaters or pullovers over collared shirts are also acceptable.

· Pants: Dress slacks or chinos. No jeans or shorts.

· Blazers (Optional): A sport coat or blazer is optional.

· Shoes: Loafers, oxfords, tasteful sneakers, or other closed-toe dress shoes.

For Women:

· Tops: Blouses, dress shirts, or smart tops. Sweaters and cardigans over blouses are also appropriate.

· Bottoms: Dress slacks, skirts, or tailored pants.

· Dresses: Casual dresses or skirts paired with a blouse or cardigan.

18. Is airport transportation included?

No, transportation to and from airport will be the responsibility of the golfer. Raleigh-Durham International Airport is the best commercial airport to fly into and is approximately 1 hour 20 minutes from Pinehurst Resort. If you are interested in arranging an airport pick-up or drop-off, please contact Anne Gmerek at anne.gmerek@cancer.org and she will connect you with our assigned transportation liaison at Pinehurst*.

*transportation arranged through Pinehurst is the financially responsibility of the attendee.

19. Where will the hotel accommodations be?

Players will stay at The Carolina Hotel, Holly Inn or Manor Inn at Pinehurst Resort.

20. Is there a shuttle service at the resort?

Yes, Pinehurst Resort offers a complimentary shuttle service for guests. The shuttle operates within the resort to transport guests between accommodations, golf courses, restaurants, and other resort amenities. On Sunday, we will have dedicated shuttle service between the Carolina Hotel and Course No. 8.

21. Can I extend my trip and come in early and/or stay after?

Based on hotel availability through our event block, guests may take advantage of extending their trip to enjoy the destination. Please keep in mind that guests are responsible for any incidentals and hotel room costs incurred outside of Sunday night.
